Semmes and Hailey will always miss their father, Don Michael “Mike” Patridge, as well all of us at The Rustler and many, many community members who enjoyed his affable hospitality over the years.

Mike was born and raised in Meridian and from an early age had a love for people. He began working as a disc jockey at Q-101 radio at the age of 15 with his father, Don “Quail” Partridge. He went on to be Assistant Manager of the radio station and he continued in that role for more than 10 years.

Although he loved the radio business, a change in career was in the future. In 1990, Mike purchased The Rustler — and under his leadership it became renowned for fine food and dining — especially steaks! For more than 34 years, Mike’s employees and patrons became his close friends and extended family. He is deeply missed by all who entered The Rustler. We will cherish his optimistic attitude and attention to detail, plus his vintage car.

In addition to his work, Mike had a deep and profound passion in his children, grandchildren and family. His grandchildren lovingly call him “Papa,” which was his favorite title.

His spirit will continue to illuminate The Rustler. He gave us 67 splendid years.
